A great way to never have your PHP script fail
Posted: April 8, 2006 Filed under: WebBasedCron Leave a comment »Hi everyone,
A little while ago I wrote a post about how to prevent your cron job from failing. A comment was posted suggesting the use of the PHP function ignore_user_abort(true). This is a great idea; anyone who is running a PHP script should put this:
ignore_user_abort(true);
as the first line in their script. This way, if your script takes longer than 60 seconds, and WebBasedCron closes the connection, the script will continue to run on your server.
Thanks,
George

Temporary Problem Fixed
Posted: March 24, 2006 Filed under: WebBasedCron Leave a comment »Hi everyone,
Due to a slight miss-configuration, cron jobs were not running from approximately 18:00 to 23:00 EST. This issue has been resolved.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

No more cron jobs deleted!
Posted: March 13, 2006 Filed under: WebBasedCron Leave a comment »Hi everyone,
Each cron job has a max number of times it can fail before it’s deleted by the cron service. By default this number is 100. We’ve been getting requests to have the cron job turn off, rather than delete it. That makes perfect sense and now it will!
Plus, you can turn your cron jobs on and off yourselves. Login to the members area to see.
Thanks,
